Helen runs a busy firm managing her own staff and working long hours. Outside of work, Helen has a family and enjoys being outdoors. She sought a metabolic intervention as she felt the burden of excess weight on her physical ability and energy levels.

Metabolically, Helen suffered from insulin resistance and diabetes and underwent a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. She also suffered from reflux and her investigations revealed a small hiatus hernia that was repaired at the same time as her laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.

After 19 months Helen has lost almost 30 kg. Her energy levels, reflux, and sleep have improved exponentially. She loves returning to New Zealand to visit her family and now feels the cold much more than she did – a small price to pay for the enormous metabolic improvement.
